Presenting Daikin's new VRV H Series Heat Pump System, redefining the benchmarks for indoor comfort and efficiency.
Daikin Australia is proud to announce the launch of the latest addition to its flagship VRV range, the VRV H Series (RXYQ-BYM). Representing the 6th generation model, this cutting-edge release introduces a host of enhancements in design, capacity, installation convenience, reliability, comfort, and energy efficiency, taking the VRV line to new heights.
New compact modular design and enhanced lineup
With a focus on space-saving and application flexibility, the new system has been engineered to accommodate both single and multi-module configurations. This intelligent design minimises the overall space required for mechanical equipment and reduces the number of electrical and piping connections. The result is unparalleled adaptability during building design, the ability to scale up capacity through phased installation as needs evolve, and the restoration of valuable leasing space for owners and occupants of existing buildings.
For starters, single modules start at 8HP and are now offered in three chassis sizes, thanks to the introduction of a XL chassis available in an impressive 22 & 24HP (67.0kW) capacity. Remarkably compact at just 1,750mm wide x 765mm deep x 1,660mm tall, this XL chassis achieves a 4% reduction in total footprint and weight compared to the 5th generation VRV Series.
In terms of scalability, up to three single modules can be seamlessly combined to deliver a total capacity of up to 60HP (168.0kW).
Significantly improved energy efficiency
The new VRV H incorporates the latest hardware and software innovations, resulting in a significant boost in energy efficiency.
At the heart of this system is the patented High Efficiency P-Type Compressor, engineered for optimal part load performance. With an outstanding part load EER (at 50% load) of up to 6.55, this compressor delivers an impressive efficiency improvement of up to 29% when compared to Daikin's 5th generation model.
Taking energy savings to the next level is the VRT Smart II Control, a cutting-edge technology developed by Daikin. This state-of-the-art system enhances efficiency during operation by intelligently regulating the air volume of the indoor unit and adjusting the refrigerant temperature of the compressor along with outdoor unit fan speed in response to the indoor heat load. This meticulous optimisation process ensures both building comfort and minimal energy consumption, providing an ideal balance between occupant satisfaction and sustainability.
Increased refrigerant piping length and height difference
Refrigerant piping lengths of up to 165m are possible, offering greater flexibility in system design. Additionally, the maximum height difference between the indoor and outdoor units has been extended to 110m, surpassing the 5th generation model by 20m. These advancements further enhance the suitability of the VRV H system for large-scale buildings, providing increased versatility and improved adaptability.
Engineered for ease of installation and service
The enhanced sealed electrical box design of the system features an ingress protection rating of IP55, providing protection against dust and moisture. With the addition of a new service window, accessing the multi-functional digital display for commissioning and troubleshooting has never been easier. Furthermore, the system incorporates separate wiring and piping makes for a swift and straightforward installation, offering convenient access when needed. These advancements not only provide protection against environmental factors but also prioritise user-friendly functionality, facilitating efficient maintenance and seamless operation.
Improved operation limits
Built-in refrigerant-cooled inverter PCB, featuring three strategic cooling points of contact, enables seamless operation even in high-temperature environments. With this innovative design, the system can operate up to a maximum ambient temperature of 52°C. This technology ensures efficient cooling of the inverter PCB, guaranteeing reliability and longevity even in challenging conditions.
About VRV Systems
When Daikin launched the VRV air conditioning system in 1982, it introduced the world’s first use of variable refrigerant volume control. In fact, VRV is a trademark of Daikin Industries, Ltd. Also referred to as VRF, variable refrigerant flow is a technology that circulates only the minimum amount of refrigerant needed during a single heating or cooling period. This mechanism introduced the opportunity for end users to individually control several air conditioning zones at one time.
